Dolmades

Dolmades

These stuffed grape leaves were always a family favorite and Greek tradition. They’re simple to make, but packed with flavor from herbs, spices, and plenty of olive oil. In my childhood, these were one of many special foods made in times of celebration —  whether it be Christmas, Easter, or just getting together after months of separation.

The funny part of this – even though it’s a family tradition – my Yiayia (Greek grandmother) and Migali Yiayia (great grandmother) never made these. My mother learned them from an old Greek cookbook she found at a Greek church, so this tradition was started with her and will definitely be passed on.
